Responding to the urgent WASH, Nutrition and Protection Needs for the most vulnerable children and women affected by the conflict in South Lebanon (24-UF-CEF-024)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to respond to WASH, nutrition, and protection needs that have arisen due to the cross-border conflict in the Bent Jbeil, Hasbaya, Marjaayoun, El Nabatieh, South, Sadia, Sour, and Jezzine areas. Under the WASH component, this project will rehabilitate water facilities and provide emergency fuel for these facilities. Under the nutrition component, UNICEF will target malnutrition via providing essential supplies and services to promote good nutrition and child development practices and providing training for managing wasting in health facilities in conflict-affected areas of South Lebanon. Cash will be provided to acutely malnourished women and children to cover the costs of transportation to and from medical facilities. Under the child protection component, UNICEF will enhance the capacities of NGOs in mental health and psychosocial support, strengthen Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) systems, and provide judicial support for those impacted by the conflict.
