Life and livelihood-saving assistance to dzud-affected vulnerable herder households (24-RR-FAO-011)

Project overview

The FAO project aims to contribute to improved dignity and protecting the livelihoods of dzud-affected herder communities in regions prone to spring catastrophic hazards and experiencing outbreaks of transboundary animal diseases. The FAO project provides unconditional cash transfers to herders, and facilitates the vaccination of sheep and goats against pox. The intervention provides humanitarian assistance to 8,800 people (2,050 men, 2,560 women and 4,190 children), including 350 persons with disabilities.
