Project overview
The primary objective of the UNICEF project is to provide life-saving food assistance and targeted supplementary feeding in Afar and Tigray. WFP plans to provide 6,530 metric tons of unconditional food assistance that can assist an estimated 385,287 people in Afar region for one month. Nutrition activities include screening for moderate acute malnutrition, case management of malnourished women using "super cereal plus" for six months, and supply management of specialized nutritious foods procured by the WFP. Under this project, WFP targets a total of 385,927 people, including 120,826 women, 125,758 men and 138,703 children, and including 38,529 persons with disabilities.
