Project overview
The main objective of this project is to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), multi-purpose cash, education, and common services assistance to vulnerable communities affected by cyclones in the coastal districts of Bangladesh. This UNICEF project provides urgent and quick-impact life-saving interventions by providing safe, and sustainable WASH services; ensuring uninterrupted learning for children; and provision of cash transfers to enable vulnerable families cope with the loss of their coping mechanisms. The project provides humanitarian assistance to 300,000 people, of whom 80,320 are women, 78,820 are men, and 140,860 are children. 8,400 people with disabilities will also benefit from this project.
