Assistance alimentaire d’urgence aux familles vulnérables affectées par les inondations et les glissements de terrain dû aux changements climatiques dans les provinces Bujumbura Rural, Makamba, et Rumonge. (24-RR-WFP-034)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving emergency food assistance to vulnerable populations who are affected by the floods and landslides in Burundi and who are threatened by acute food insecurity. Key activities include cash transfers to affected people to cover their essential food needs for three months. This will ensure access to nutritionally adequate food for affected people, while the cash transfer modality will also help stimulate markets and support the local economy in the affected and temporary displacement hosting areas. The project provides life-saving assistance to 8,600 people, of whom 2,205 are women and 2,144 are girls. Additionally, 1,118 people with disabilities benefit from this project.
