Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide access to services on life-saving reproductive health and gender-based violence, for displaced people and communities affected by recent armed gang violence in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. This UNFPA project recruits and makes available additional staff (midwives, nurses, laboratory technicians and anaesthetists) at the hospital, provides essential medical equipment and materials to ensure free emergency obstetric and neonatal care, deploys mobile clinics to provide essential primary care for SRH and GBV in affected sites, distributes Dignity Kits and provides emergency cash assistance to women and girls (at risk or survivors of GBV). This project provides humanitarian assistance to 74,559 people, including 51,346 women, 586 men, 22,627 children, and including 1,497 persons with disabilities.
