Mitigating the impact of drought for the most vulnerable pastoral and agropastoral communities of Turkana and Wajir Counties (23-UF-FAO-019)

Project overview

The main aim of this project is to safeguard livestock-based livelihoods and improve the lives, food security, and nutrition status of drought-affected households. This FAO project provides cash plus livestock feed, animal health services, and collapsible water tanks in support of livestock water trucking to target pastoralists in dry-season grazing areas. In total, the project is targeting 42,399 people, including 10,117 women and 25,498 children. 1,696 persons with disabilities are also supported.
