Provision of immediate lifesaving emergency shelter and non-food item (NFI) assistance for cyclone and flood affected populations in Central and Northern Mozambique (23-RR-IOM-007)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide shelter and non-food item (NFI) assistance for people affected by the cyclone and floods in central and northern Mozambique. IOM supports the construction of 900 temporary emergency shelters in the relocation sites identified within Sofala and Zambezia provinces, for an estimated 4,500 vulnerable individuals, among other activities. This will include consultations with affected people and providing technical advice on safe construction. IOM also provides core relief items to 22,250 people. With CERF funds, the project targets 4,530 households or 26,750 people, including 5,350 women, 6,153 men, 15,247 children, and including 1,872 persons with disabilities.
