Early and anticipatory action for effective health response to flood-affected communities in Rubkona County. (22-RR-WHO-018)

Project overview

The main objective of this project was to enable access to lifesaving health services to contain ongoing disease outbreaks and to mitigate the risk of a widespread, flood-induced public health emergency. This WHO project provided essential medicine and supplies to static and mobile health facilities, enabled rapid response teams to rapidly track and contain infectious diseases, and conducted preventative and reactive vaccinations campaigns, among others. The project provided health assistance to 227,000 people, including 88,000 women, 92,000 men, 23,000 girls, 24,000 boys, and 34,000 people with disabilities.
