Project overview
The main objective of this project was to provide early action assistance in the nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sectors to mitigate the compounding effects of projected severe flooding on vulnerable communities in Unity State. This UNICEF project prevented and treated acute malnutrition in children under 5 years old, set up flood-resilient latrines to promote safe hygiene practices, and distributed essential hygiene supplies to vulnerable people, among other activities. The project provided WASH sector assistance to 66,131 people and nutrition support to 5,000 children.
