Addressing the Protection Needs of Populations Affected by the Floods in Unity and Upper Nile (21-RR-HCR-031)

Project overview

Funding from CERF enabled UNHCR and its partners to scale up the emergency protection response for internally displaced people and their host communities, and to address the protection needs of flood-affected people, particularly Persons with Specific Needs (PSNs) such as vulnerable women, girls and persons with disabilities, through community-based protection networks, targeted multi-sectoral support for PSN, including cash-based transfers, referrals, firewood support to mitigate GBV risks and other activities. In total, the project provided life-saving protection assistance to 76,299 people, including 30,093 women, 11,901 girls and 4,850 people with disabilities.
