Scaling Up Emergency Health Response for IPC 5 Populations in Akobo and Pibor (21-RR-WHO-008)

Project overview

Responding to the emergency health needs of highly food insecure populations, WHO used CERF funds to significantly scale up the emergency health response in four priority locations with the aim to reduce excess mortality and morbidity. To that end, WHO and its partners renovated and equipped three health facilities with equipment and essential medicines, provided measles vaccination services to 3,983 children, performed health consultations for 38,868 people, and provided 24-hour emergency obstetrics services, among other activities. In total, WHO provided lifesaving health services to 63,158 people, including 20,180 women, 15,805 girls, and 2,068 people with disabilities.
