CERF-funded Project

South Sudan

2021 Life-saving emergency livelihood response in South Sudan (21-RR-FAO-006)

Project overview

With this CERF-funded project, FAO, through the provision of emergency livelihood items such as crops, vegetable seeds, agricultural tools and fishing kits, was able to protect more than 30,000 highly food-insecure households from hunger by ensuring they could engage in productive agricultural practices. To expedite the distribution of livelihood support in the face of an extremely urgent situation, FAO immediately mobilized available stocks that were then replenished using CERF funds. In total, FAO provided lifesaving assistance to 181,200 people, including 117,000 women and 24,180 girls.
