Project overview
With $2.8 million in CERF funding, UNICEF provided safe water to 62,242 drought-affected people. 6,000 hygiene kits as well as hygiene messages are distributed to support the same 50,000 people. UNICEF conducted nutritional screening of 283,042 children under five and treated 16,758 malnourished children (9,575 girls, 7,183 boys) with ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF). In addition, UNICEF in close collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Development completed the rehabilitation of six strategic boreholes 20,000 people, drilled of three strategic boreholes benefitting 25,000 persons
