Project overview
The project assisted in the provision of coordinated and effective assistance and protection to 185,500 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in displacement locations and 16,971 host community members in the Amhara and Tigray regions of Ethiopia IOM CCCM undertook site upgrade/improvement works at 39 IDP sites (34 in Tigray and five in Amhara); reached 55 IDP sites (47 in Tigray and eight in Amhara)
A total of 127,485 individuals / 28,783 households (HHs) were reached through Emergency Shelter (ES) and non-food items (NFIs) assistance in the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar regions of Ethiopia. In some locations, these included cash for local shelter materials.
IOM provided COVID-19 testing for United Nations, International and Local NGO staff, and their dependents at targeted locations. During this period, 342 staff tested with 57 (16 females, 41 males) positive cases. Among services provided were also referral of detected COVID-19 cases, triaging, and counseling on preventative measures.
