Harnessing the leadership of local Women-Led Organisations for promoting positive social norms and improving access to survivor-centred life-saving multisectoral GBV response. (20-RR-FPA-042)

Project overview

The programmatic priorities of this UNFPA project are to prevent violence against women and girls and help victims and survivors to access multi-sectoral response to gender-based violence (GBV) including medical care and family planning, psychosocial support, safe spaces, legal support and counselling. Together with UNWOMEN, UNFPA will be working towards two common outcomes with a focus on transforming harmful social norms and promoting the leadership of Women-led and rights Organizations. UNFPA is also working towards an agency-specific outcome in line with its mandate to provide quality multisectoral GBV response services to women and girls facing violence. The Inter-Agency 'GBV in emergencies' minimum standards, alongside the UNFPA Minimum Standards will be guiding implementation of this project which will also provide an opportunity to improve inclusion strategies for people with disabilities and strengthen mechanisms for accountability to affected people. This $17m project targets 766,927 affected people with Protection/GBV engagement and 2,285 people with Health activities.
