Project overview
The main objective of this project is to strengthen resilience of vulnerable women and girls to cope with impact of gender-based violence (GBV) in the event of La Niña-related drought in Biadoa, Xudur and Afmadow. This UNFPA project improves access to specialized GBV services through community sensitization, training for GBV responders, provision of hygiene kits, cash assistance, and enhanced referral systems. By addressing GBV risks and promoting preventive measures, the project seeks to protect and empower women and girls during a La Niña drought. The project provides life-saving assistance to 13,809 people, including 6,600 women, 965 men and 6,244 children, and including 2,015 persons with disabilities.
