Project overview
The main objective of this WHO project is to support the response of the national health system after the damage caused by Hurricane Rafael in the two most affected provinces of west Cuba. The project aims to deliver emergency relief items to health institutions, delivery medical equipment, medicines, and other essential medical supplies to restore the operation of health institutions and to detect and contain diseases outbreaks in all damaged areas. The intervention provides humanitarian assistance to 349,320 people (136,156 women, 134,823 men and 78,341 children) including 10,480 persons with disabilities.
