Project overview
The main objective of the project is to provide life-saving water, sanitation and hygiene services and supplies in the aftermath of Hurricane Oscar, ensuring sanitary and hygienic conditions in communities, educational and health institutions, preventing outbreaks of water-borne and vector-borne diseases. This UNICEF project aims to provide essential water, sanitation and hygiene services and supplies to the most affected communities and health and education institutions in the municipalities of San Antonio del Sur, Imías, Maisí and Baracoa. The intervention provides humanitarian assistance to 74,000 people (29,598 women, 27,436 men and 16,966 children) including 2,220 persons with disabilities.
