Project overview
The main objective of this UNWOMEN project is to enhance accountability and empower communities through the implementation of a comprehensive collective Accountability to Affected People (AAP) approach, strengthen and link feedback mechanisms, and approach to AAP through the development of a strategy for the Karamoja region. This project provides activities such as conducting AAP self-assessment, identifying and mapping existing AAP and community feedback mechanisms, and community-based structures which target marginalized groups such as women, youth, and persons with disabilities to guide the outline of the AAP system. The project provides life-saving assistance to 25,000 people, including 10,000 women, 7,000 children, and including 1,200 persons with disabilities. This project is part of the special thematic allocation for AAP under the 2023 round 2 for underfunded emergencies (UFE).
