Lifesaving nutrition response to the drought-affected children in Karamoja Region (23-UF-CEF-061)

Project overview

The main objective of this UNICEF project is to deliver a critical, life-saving response to prevent the deterioration of nutritional status among 19,655 severely malnourished children in the Karamoja region of Uganda, driven by drought-induced humanitarian needs. This project provides community mobilization, conducts mass screening of children aged 6-59 months using anthropometric equipment such as weighing scales and types for early identification, detection, and referrals of children with severe wasting to health facilities for treatment. The project provides life-saving assistance to 114,404 people, including 23,876 women and 90,528 children.
