Provision of shelter and NFI support to people affected by the earthquake (23-UF-HCR-008)

Project overview

The destruction caused by the earthquakes forced thousands of families to flee their shelters and seek refuge in spaces, including collective shelters, that do not offer minimum privacy and safety. Several families are also being hosted by local communities or relatives. Those who stayed in their homes report feeling unsafe due to the damage sustained following the earthquakes. As part of its response, UNHCR intends to provide shelter support to 14,545 earthquake affected people through a four-pronged approach, namely: (1) shelter support to collective shelters; (2) repairs to damaged dwellings; (3) implementing a dignified shelter project; and (4) distribution of tents and core relief items (CRI/NFI).
