Project overview
With CERF funding, IOM provided Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to 23,757 individuals in Mandera, Wajir, Turkana, and Marsabit counties, exceeding its target by 14%. The cash assistance, based on Kenya’s Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB), helped beneficiaries meet urgent food, healthcare, and household needs, with 75% spent on food and livelihoods. The project improved economic stability, supported displaced and vulnerable populations, and strengthened local economies. Despite challenges like insecurity and flooding, IOM successfully reached 2,879 additional people, ensuring broader community impact.
