Project overview
With CERF funding, UNFPA provided life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) services in Turkana, Wajir, Mandera, and Marsabit counties, assisting 275,169 people, including 4,727 persons with disabilities. The project distributed dignity kits, sanitary pads, and maternal health kits to 155,494 beneficiaries, improving access to GBV services. It also supported 93,273 skilled births, provided 67,092 women with family planning services, and reached 35,972 men with condoms. To address GBV, 215,737 people received services, including 11,160 survivors and at-risk individuals, while 1,922 aid workers were trained. Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) reached 49,083 beneficiaries, improving well-being. The project’s success was driven by strong community outreach, increased health provider capacity, and integration with other drought response efforts, ensuring sustained access to SRH and GBV services
