Project overview
The main objective of this project is to provide multi-sectorial assistance in child protection, education, mine action, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) to vulnerable communities affected by armed conflicts and disasters in the departments of Nariño, Valle, and Chocó. This UNICEF project provides vulnerable children, adolescents, and their families with essential assistance such as emergency psychosocial care, sufficient and safe drinking water, and mine risk education. The education sector provides formal and non-formal education to 3,581 people, of whom 92% are children. The child protection sector supports 2,100 children, 600 women, and 300 men with psychosocial care. The WASH sector provides safe drinking water and hygiene items to 3,210 people, of whom 2,343 are children, 450 are women, and 417 are men. Finally, the mine action sector trains 2,650 students on mine risk education. About 5% of all people targeted with assistance are people with disabilities.
