Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide protection, camp coordination and camp management, and shelter and essential household item assistance to internally displaced persons and host community members in Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu provinces. This UNHCR project reinforces the protection environment (e.g. documenting human rights violations, strengthening peaceful coexistence, and supporting community protection referral mechanisms), distributes shelter and essential item kits, provides cash transfers assistance to households. The protection component of this project provides humanitarian assistance to 74,700 people, including 14,800 women, 9,300 men, 50,600 children, and including 300 persons with disabilities. The camp coordination and camp management component provides humanitarian assistance to 70,000 people, including 14,000 women, 7,000 men, 49,000 children, and including 80 persons with disabilities. The shelter and essential household item component provides humanitarian assistance to 38,200 people, including 8,200 women, 5,200 men, 24,800 children, and including 265 persons with disabilities.
