Project overview
The main objective of this UNFPA project is to increase access to life-saving gender-based violence (GBV)response and prevention, and psychosocial support services for women and adolescent girls in the Central Highlands, Central and North Eastern regions of Afghanistan. This project establishes three Psychosocial Counseling Centers at hospitals, where vulnerable women and girls, including GBV survivors, can access free and confidential services, including medical care, psychosocial counseling, and referrals to third-party support mechanisms, where available. The project provides life-saving assistance to 81,090 people, including 55,192 women, 4,840 men, 21,058 children, and including 4,055 persons with disabilities.
