Supporting the immediate restoration of food security, agriculture and livelihoods across Vanuatu from twin Tropical Cyclones Judy & Kevin (23-RR-FAO-003)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to improve food and nutrition security for households affected by Cyclones Judy and Kevin through restoration of productive assets and capacity. This FAO project distributes horticultural seeds and agricultural tools to 14,755 people, trains 6,700 people on agricultural skills and safe handling of foods, and supports 6,700 people in harvesting crops within 3 months. Additionally, the project provides livestock inputs, such as livestock fencing and animal feed, to 1,850 people and offers training on best practices in livestock rearing during emergencies to 1,250 people. In total, the project assists 22,485 people, including 6,979 men, 6,849 women, 4,369 boys, 4,288 girls, and including 1,349 persons with disabilities.
