Project overview
The proposed engagement aims to address the immediate needs of over 136,000 newly displaced Sudanese and 24,000 host community members, in conflict-affected areas, including hotspots and locations that have received significant numbers of internally displaced persons (IDPs). UNHCR's IDP scale-up strategy prioritizes protection, particularly through community-based structures for analyzing the protection environment and identifying persons with specific needs (PSN), such as those affected by sexual and gender-based violence (GBV), people with disabilities (PwD), and other protection concerns. In addition to mechanisms at community level, regular protection monitoring missions are undertaken to support community-based structures, identify and refer people at risk. This project targets a combined total of 160,000 affected people with activities in the following sectors: Protection, ES/NFI, and CCCM.
