Project overview
This UNICEF project provides water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in emergencies and protection lifesaving assistance in response to the flood disaster in the six (of the 14) most affected target districts of Blantyre, Chikwawa, Nsanje, Mulanje, Phalombe, and Zomba. UNICEF implements mental health and psycho-social support to caregivers and children, provision of safe and recreational spaces for children, case management and identification of separated children by child protection workers, and supports camp managers in addressing protection risks. The project provides humanitarian assistance to 816,738 people, including 218,850 women, 196,389 men, 401,499 children, and including 33,629 persons with disabilities.
