Project overview
The main objective of this project is to provide and reinforce anticipatory and early response actions for the prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV), sexual abuse and exploitation, and maternal and neonatal mortality related to the impact of El Niño in the Grand Sud of Madagascar. This UNFPA project provides critical community sensitization on GBV risks, reproductive health kits for emergency obstetric and neonatal care to facilities, refresher trainings for frontline responders on clinical management of rape and psychological first aid for survivors of GBV. The project provides life-saving assistance to 22,900 people, including 13,518 women, 2,763 men and 6,619 children, and 185 persons with disabilities.
