Project overview
The main objective of this project is to provide emergency food assistance to vulnerable households in Herat affected by the earthquake. WFP provides blanket emergency lifesaving food assistance to 31,848 people affected by the earthquake, primarily in Herat province, for 3 months of assistance. This assistance includes 7,485 women, 7,325 men, and 17,039 children. Additionally, 6,369 people with disabilities are also benefiting from this project. WFP's designates 50 percent for in-kind assistance and the remaining 50 percent allocated to cash-based transfers through commodity vouchers. The food package includes 100 kg of wheat flour, 9.1 kg of oil, 12.5 kg of pulses, and 1 kg of salt, ensuring a caloric intake of 2,100 calories per person.
