Project overview
The main objective of this project was to provide emergency livelihood support to mitigate the impact of projected floods on the food security and livelihoods of agro-pastoralist communities in Unity State. This FAO project protected livestock assets by treating and vaccinating animals and by working with affected communities to dispose of animal carcasses as a way of preventing water contamination and the spread of zoonotic diseases. The project provided agriculture assistance to 82,300 people, including 16,500 men 16,500 women, 24,500 girls, 24,500 boys and 800 people with disabilities.
