Emergency response in the drought-affected woredas of the Somali, Oromia, and Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples (SNNP) regions (22-RR-WFP-037)

Project overview

This $2,500,000 WFP project aimed to ensure that drought-affected people in Somali, Oromia and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' regions can meet their basic food and nutrition needs. To that end, WFP provided in-kind food assistance to drought-affected people to cover urgent food needs while also providing specialized nutritious foods to children and pregnant and lactating women. In total, WFP provided food assistance to 95,467 people, including 29,938 women, 31,160 men, 16,841 girls, 17,528 boys, and 5,937 people with disabilities, while also providing nutrition support to 17,045 people, including 4,268 women, 6,261 girls, 6,516 boys, and 1,021 people with disabilities.
