Project overview
The main objective of this FAO project was to protect the food security and livelihoods of pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in Northern and Southern Red Sea, affected by drought. FAO and its partners undertook activities geared towards distribution of livestock feed to drought affected communities of Northern and Southern Red Sea regions through an integrated needs-based approach. The project provided life-saving assistance to 367,547 people, including 30,019 women, 160,875 girls, 131,625 boys, 45,028 men, and 17,275 persons with disabilities.
