Emergency Response to Consequences of Hostilities Affecting Palestine Refugees in Gaza (21-RR-RWA-001)

Project overview

With CERF funding, UNRWA was able to respond to the needs of Palestinian refugees directly impacted by the hostilities. UNRWA addressed the heightened need for mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), especially for children, and reached 101,847 students through summer school and after-school activities. Moreover, UNRWA addressed the immediate need for shelter support to Palestine refugee families whose shelters endured major damage, reaching 3,595 people. UNRWA provided transitional cash assistance consisting of a portion to cover rental costs for up to 6 months and another to cover the cost of home essentials to help families settle while their shelters are under repair. The project assisted a total of 105,442 Palestinian refugees across Gaza.
