Supporting provision of life saving Gender based violence and Sexual reproductive health services for crisis affected population in Afar, Tigray and Amhara regions (21-RR-FPA-034)

Project overview

The main objective of this UNFPA project is to provide Life-saving Gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual reproductive health services (RSH) for crisis-affected populations in Afar, Tigray, and Amhara regions. A total of 23,650 women and girls of reproductive age received dignity kits. Lifesaving referral information and Psychosocial Support were also provided to the targeted beneficiaries. A total of 6 referral pathways were developed. Moreover, Interagency reproductive health kits, which will equip 14 health centres and 3 hospitals, were procured and distributed. A total of 266 (170M, 96F) frontline workers, stakeholders and internal staff across the targeted locations were trained on Clinical Management of Rape, GBV case management, GBV basic concept and PSS. Lifesaving reproductive Health kits were procured and availed in selected health facilities of Afar, Amhara and Tigray regions through health partners (ICRC and MSI). The kits supported 17 health facilities, which cover 14 health centers in the 12 project woredas and 3 hospitals (one per region). The project provided life-saving assistance to 80,271 people, including 41,334 women, 7,909 men, 26,440 girls, 1,982 boys, and 2,709 persons with disabilities.
