Support to vulnerable farmers and breeders (including IDPs and returnees) to improve their food and nutrition security (20-UF-FAO-013)

Project overview

The current proposal is composed of two main interventions:1) Targeted provision of good quality improved wheat seeds to 20,000 most vulnerable farmers households in Al-Hasakeh, Ar-Raqqua, Deir-Ez-Zor and Aleppo (about 20% of the total vulnerable population) and 2) Animal health treatment for sheep and cattle against parasites in the governorates of Rural Damascus (East Ghota), Deir-Ez-Zor and Ar-Raqqua. The animal treatment campaign will target 33,000 vulnerable breeders households from the most vulnerable among those who receive the animal treatment. The project will target in total 53,000 farmers and breeders households (318,000 people) of the most vulnerable farmers and breeders who do not have capacity to access good quality inputs, through its Food Security and Agriculture engagement.
