Provision of Nutrition services for Severe Acute malnourished children Populations affected with COVID 19 in Balochistan. (20-UF-CEF-050)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving emergency nutrition services for children affected by severe acute malnutrition at health facilities and communities. This UNICEF project 1) sets up 29 outpatient nutrition sites, 2) provides nutrition commodities (ready-to-use food, iron folic acid, multi-micronutrient supplements), 3) provides sessions on nutrition, hygiene and health promotion in the nutrition sites and 4) distributes multiple micronutrients supplements and iron folic acid to children and pregnant and lactating mothers, among other activities. The project provides life-saving assistance to 417,017 people including 302,451 women and over 100,000 children. This includes over 54,000 people with disabilities.
