Emergency Livelihood support for Internally Displaced People in Cabo Delgado (20-UF-FAO-028)

Project overview

The main objective of this FAO project is to enhance food security of the displaced people affected by the internal conflict in Cabo Delgado Province. With this CERF grant, FAO provides $50 each to 8,000 households for purchasing agriculture inputs for both the main (November - March) and the winter (February - September) seasons. The items include crop seeds such as maize, sorghum, millet, pulses (cowpea, common bean and groundnut) and assorted vegetables as well as farming tools (hoes, machetes, sickles). The project has a duration of 12 months, reaching 40,000 people including 9,600 women and 11,200 girls.
