Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving food security assistance and common logistics services to IDPs, host community members and returnees in Sud-Kivu (Fizi and Mwenga), Kasai Central (Kazumba) and Nord-Kivu (Masisi). This WFP project provides 3 months of unconditional cash assistance to enable households to meet their basic food needs, followed by 3 months of conditional cash assistance to help households restore their livelihoods. Additionally WFP will rehabilitate 90 km of roads in Sud Kivu that are critical for ensuring that humanitarian actors can deliver life-saving assistance to populations in need. The project provides life-saving food security assistance to 72,120 people, including 17,253 women and 38,945 children, and life-saving common logistics assistance to 240,826 people, including 50,814 women and 140,811 children.
