The main objective of this project was to restore critical health services, restore syndromic and event-based surveillance and ensure that affected populations have access to critical health information across all three affected provinces. With CERF funds, WHO 1) supports the Vanuatu Medical Assistance Team to deploy emergency medical teams, 2) provides medicines and medical supplies to health facilities and 3) deploys “EWARS in a Box” emergency mobile-based surveillance systems, among other activities. 50,000 people (including 12,500 women and 25,000 children and including 1,000 people with disabilities) benefitted from this project.
