ETC Response to TC Harold, Vanuatu (20-RR-WFP-028)

Project overview

The main objective of this project was to support the emergency response by filling telecommunications gaps by providing shared connectivity services for national responding authorities, humanitarian responders and the affected population. WFP used CERF funds to 1) deploy internet connectivity and Wi-Fi access services to be for used by the affected population, humanitarian community, and responders, and 2) assessed and repaired transmission towers for VBTC-Radio Vanuatu. Radio Vanuatu is the primary means of communication, including for disaster and emergency information, for the communities on Santo and Pentecost islands.
