Provision of Shelter-NFI Emergency Supplies For Flood Affected Populations in South Sudan (20-RR-IOM-029)

Project overview

IOM ensure the pipeline of relief goods for shelter and non-food items (NFI) in South Sudan and will support the Shelter/NFI cluster and partners to provide frontline life-saving assistance within the immediate flood response through the provision and transportation of Shelter/NFI in-kind supplies. IOM will procure core Shelter/NFI items to replenish the supplies released for flood-affected people targeted by the Shelter/NFI Cluster. For the flood response, the Shelter/NFI Cluster has targeted 360,000 flood-affected people; 159,000 of them are directly targeted through the present project. In close coordination with OCHA, the Logistics, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter/NFI and Food Security Clusters, IOM has released contingency WASH and Shelter/NFI supplies from six key hubs (Juba, Bor, Rumbek, Malakal, Wau and Bentiu), to support initial responses. IOM has also allocated supplies which are currently en route to Juba to be immediately released for the next distribution planned for prioritized flood-affected locations.
