CERF-funded Project

Logistics Support to the humanitarian community for the flood response in Somalia (20-RR-WFP-030)

Project overview

The main objective of this project was to ensure that the humanitarian cargo can access the flood-affected areas. WFP used CERF funds to operate a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft and provide shunting services. Over the duration of the project, WFP facilitated the transportation of 141 MT of relief items – such as tents, beds, NFI kits and sandbags - via air and road, on behalf of six organisations to Baidoa, Beletweyne, El Berde, Dollow, Hobyo and Jowhar. These locations were identified by partners as being the most critical in terms of delivery of non-food items / urgent humanitarian cargo.
