Emergency flood response in Somalia by providing access to clean safe water, sanitation and hygiene services in Gedo, Mudug and Bari regions (20-RR-IOM-016)

Project overview

The main objective of this project is to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for communities affected by flooding in Gedo, Galmudug and Bari regions. With CERF funding, IOM rehabilitates and upgrades 15 shallow wells and 4 boreholes, provides aqua tabs for household water treatment, constructs 750 latrines with hand washing facilities, distributes 12,000 hygiene kits. In total, the project will target 72,000 displaced persons and persons belonging to host communities, including 40,320 women and girls.
