Emergency flood response in Somalia by providing access to clean safe water, sanitation and hygiene services in Gedo, Mudug and Bari regions (20-RR-IOM-016)

The main objective of this project was to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for communities affected by flooding in Gedo, Galmudug and Bari regions. With CERF funding, IOM rehabilitated and upgraded 19 shallow wells and 4 boreholes, provided aqua tabs for household water treatment, constructs 650 latrines with hand washing facilities, distributed hygiene kits 74,400 women and girls. In total, the project will target 74,400 displaced persons and persons belonging to host communities, including 40,920 women and girls.
