Project overview

The main objective of the project is to provide emergency life-saving WASH services to 103,000 flood-affected people in Puntland, Galmudug, Hirshaballe and South West States. UNICEF uses CERF funding to provide water trucking for 42,000 people for 45 days, chlorinate 100 wellls and rehabilitate four water supply systems. In addition, UNICEF procures and distributes 10,000 hygiene kits, conducts hygiene promotion and constructs 200 gender-segregated emergency latrines with handwashing facilities for 4,000 people. In total, the project will target 103,000 displaced persons and persons belonging to host communities, including 52,530 women and girls.
