Emergency WASH Interventions for flood affected areas of Puntland and South-Central Somalia (20-RR-CEF-035)

The main objective of the project was to provide emergency life-saving WASH services to 103,000 flood-affected people in Puntland, Galmudug, Hirshaballe and South West States. UNICEF used CERF funding to provide water trucking for 48,000 people for 45 days, chlorinate of wells for 26,165 persons and rehabilitation four water supply systems that reached 48,804 persons. In addition, UNICEF procured and distributed hygiene kits to 61,860 to women and girls, conducted hygiene promotion and constructed 204 gender-segregated emergency latrines with hand washing facilities for 8,850 people. In total, the project benefited 197,366 displaced persons and persons belonging to host communities, including 103184 women and girls.
