Improve access to primary health care and strengthen capacity to respond to cholera and others disease outbreaks for IDPs and host communities faced with insecurity and floods in Cabo Delgado (20-RR-WHO-023)

Project overview

The main objective of this WHO project is to improve access to primary health care and support detection of and response to infectious disease outbreaks including cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery and COVID-19 among people affected by floods and insecurity in Cabo Delgado. The project provides 20 cholera investigation kits and community cholera emergency kits, strengthens disease surveillance and enhances hygiene promotion and community engagement on cholera, diarrhoeal diseases and COVID-19 prevention and control. The project benefits 200,000 people including 22,500 girls and 100,449 women. 10% of the resources are dedicated to COVID-19 management.
