Project overview
The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving nutrition, child protection and education assistance to internally displaced people and host communities in Gao, Mopti and Segou regions. This UNICEF project provides active malnutrition screening; integrated management of children suffering from severe acute malnutrition; psycho-social support by establishing child-friendly safe spaces; emergency care for unaccompanied children, former child soldiers and victims of sexual- and gender-based violence; and improves access to equitable education by training teachers and distributing education kits. The project provides life-saving nutrition assistance to 165,000 people, including 65,000 women and 100,000 children; life-saving child protection assistance to 7,574 people, including 182 women and 7,210 children; life-saving education assistance to 2,000 children.
