Anticipatory interventions in the WASH sector to mitigate the negative impacts of drought shocks (20-RR-CEF-070)

The main objective of this project is to mitigate disease and malnutrition risks of the projected drought shock by ensuring supply of clean water and healthy practices. With CERF funding, UNICEF rehabilitates 40 water schemes, provides non-food items including soap and buckets to 41,250 people, and runs hygiene promotion campaigns targeting 154,000 people. In total, UNICEF targets 154,000 people (including 35,420 women and 41,580 girls), of whom 17,864 are estimated to be people with disabilities.
